Rothschild giraffe in Kenya's Lake Nakuru National Park

There are more than 100,000 giraffes left in the world. They are not considered endangered, but their native populations in Africa are declining. Our image is of the long-necked Rothschild giraffe, a subspecies of the northern giraffe, named after London biologist Lionel Walter Rothschild. In 2016, there were only 166 giraffes in the forest, 45 of them in Lake Nakuru National Park in Kenya. The other can be found in Murchison Falls National Park in northern Uganda. Inside these parks, giraffes are tied to enclosures to keep predators at bay. However, their natural prey - hyenas, lions, crocodiles, and leopards _ remains a threat. But at least they are a natural danger.

Beautiful Hunting Bird and Honey Bee in Colombia,

We do what seems to be a confrontation between two pollinators. On the one hand, you have the honey bee, which is a well-known breeder. But chickens - like this emperor's bright hanging bird - are also good pollinators. And there are also cuttings, pellets and other critters that can move pollen from plant to plant for pollination, offering us fruits, seeds and the next generation..

Hummingbirds are found only in the western hemisphere. There are more than 300 species and most of them live in Central and South America, like this magnificent homing bird that can be found in Colombia and Ecuador. Such birds live together without breeding. The male has a purple color on the neck. Females look similar but their plumage is mostly green.
